Indirect Evaporative Cooling

Climate Wizard indirect evaporative cooling technology uses a hyper-efficient heat exchanger to produce 100% fresh, cool, outside air, with no added moisture.

The fresh cold air produced by indirect evaporative coolers can be similar to that produced by refrigerated systems, with temperatures that approach the ambient dew-point temperature, using up to 80% less energy.

No matter how hot it gets outside, indirect evaporative coolers use the same amount of power and still delivers 100% fresh, cool air inside. This is in direct contrast to refrigerated systems, which require increasing amounts of power as outside temperatures rise.

Indirect evaporative cooling is for ideal in pre-cooling application, stand-alone or supplementary cooling.  Indirect evaporative coolers cover an exceptionally large range of flexible configurations in a wide range of industries.

Climate Wizard patent

Climate Wizard is a world first and the innovation revolution of the century in cooling technology, using a new way of cooling to deliver unparalleled cooling levels at a fraction of the cost of refrigerated air conditioning. This proven technology has now been successfully adopted across the world.

Climate Wizard uses a patented heat exchanger core separating the airflow where evaporation occurs (working air) and the airflow that is delivered into the building (supply air). This way the supply air can be cooled below the wet-bulb and contains no moisture.

How does Climate Wizard indirect evaporative cooling work?

Indirect evaporative air conditioners use a hyper-efficient patented heat exchanger to produce 100% fresh, cool, outside air, with no added moisture.

The core is an air-to-air heat exchanger consisting of alternating dry and wet channels.

  1. Hot outside air enters the cooler and the fan drives the fresh air through the dry channels.
  2. On exiting, some of the air flows into the building and the remainder is forced back through the wet channels.
  3. Air passing through the wet channels is cooled by water evaporation and cools the channel surface, before being exhausted as warm, moist air.
  4. The temperature of the fresh air passing through the adjacent dry channels is reduced and this cooled air is then transferred into the building without any added moisture.

Key benefits of Climate Wizard Indirect Evaporative Coolers

evaporative cooling providing fresh air into the building

Comfortable Indoor Air Quality

Improved IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) with 100% fresh, cool outside air never recirculating stale and recycled air. Temperatures are similar to those produced by refrigerated systems, not adding any moisture to the air.

Reduced Energy use

No high electrical demand charges even in hot weather. Reduce the energy use and improve the cooling performance of existing refrigerated systems (when installed in pre-cooling or supplementary cooling). Total cooling performance increases when air temperature rises.

evaporative cooling ideal to cool industrial and commercial spaces

Flexible applications

Covers an exceptionally large range of flexible configurations (pre-cooling, stand-alone or supplemetary cooling) in a wide range of applications, from light commercial to big industrial plants.

Supporting Sustainability

No synthetic refrigerants are used to cool the air, only water used. Climate Wizard used an exclusive WaterManagement system that helps minimising water consumption.

Climate Wizard Energy-Saving cooling solutions

climate wizard COP and cooling capacity increasing when temperature rises

Hyper-efficient

Climate Wizard’s cooling performance can rival that of refrigerated systems, using up to 80% less energy.

That’s not only great for reducing power bills; it’s also great for the environment. And, no matter how hot it gets outside, Climate Wizard uses the same amount of power and still delivers 100% fresh, cool air inside.

This is in direct contrast to refrigerated systems, which require increasing amounts of power as outside temperatures rise. Climate Wizard’s cost-saving capabilities actually increase, when the heat is at its highest.

At the same time, Climate Wizard’s performance also increases as temperatures rise – again, in complete contrast to refrigerated systems.

Reduced greenhouse gas emissions

Evaporative cooling uses water to cool. This helps reduce the production of greenhouse gases, including harmful hydroflourocarbons. We have estimated that in a location like Jaipur (India) using Climate Wizard you can reduce running costs up to 87%1 and carbon emissions up to 90%2.

Minimal water usage

The technologically advanced water management system continuously checks the quality of the water in your cooler. The system automatically replaces the water when mineral deposits exceed an acceptable level. The optimal result: minimum water use for maximum, fresh cooling power. Furthermore, you can generate your own cooling medium by rain water harvesting and to create a water neutral solution, you can use the waste water for grey, fire or irrigation.

Climate Wizard Applications and Configurations

A WIDE RANGE OF APPLICATIONS FOR CLIMATE WIZARD EVAPORATIVE COOLERS

In cases where buildings have reverse cycle air conditioning systems installed, air is recirculated within the indoor space.

Drawing fresh air from outside, Indirect Evaporative Cooling (IEC) units are healthier than traditional air conditioning units, by filtering the incoming air, removing most airborne dust and pollen particles and delivering 100% fresh, cool, outside air.

Indirect evaporative cooling cuts energy costs, preserve products, customer and staff wellbeing, and provides the required amount of fresh, healthy air at precise temperatures and humidity necessary for the space.

Cooling with traditional air conditioning can be challenging and extremely expensive for big areas. Indirect evaporative cooling can be the right solution because it cools large buildings at a fraction of the cost compared to traditional reverse cycle systems. Therefore it makes sense to employ Indirect Evaporative Cooling, a hyper-efficient air conditioning system. This will create a satisfactory environment for workers to maximise productivity whilst at the same time minimising energy costs.

This is why Climate Wizard Indirect Evaporative Cooling units are perfectly suitable for a wide range of applications, including:

Industrial Plants

Data Centers

Retail and Supermarkets

Schools and offices

Warehouses

Health and aged care facilities

Different configurations for Climate Wizard units

Supported by a team of experienced design consultants and engineers, Climate Wizard Indirect Evaporative Cooling covers an exceptionally large range of
flexible configurations in a wide range of industries.

Stand alone cooling

Climate Wizard can be installed in stand alone configuration, when fresh air is needed directly into the space and no other cooling system is previously installed. This way, we directly take advantage of Indoor Air Quality improvement for staff & customers.

Pre-cooling

Indirect evaporative cooling can be retro-fitted to existing reverse cycle VRF installations to pre-cool outside air in any workspace or commercial application, providing fresh cool air to reduce the cooling load on an air handling unit already installed. Acting like an ‘efficiency turbo charger’ the savings are immediate.

The key is to hyper-efficiently pre-cool air before it enters the refrigerated air conditioning system. Compressors don’t need to struggle in extreme summer conditions when fed with pre‑cooled air from Climate Wizard. This significantly reduces the load on the system’s energy-hungry compressors.

Supplementary cooling

You can significantly reduce the load on compressors & extends the compressor’s life, even when installation makes it diffucult to install Climate Wizard in pre-cooling (or when unit’s physical layout does not allow direct connection with our indirect evaporative cooler).

Climate Wizard can be installed in a convenient location, in parallel with a chiller for example. Climate Wizard provides fresh outside air, while the chiller continues cooling the air inside the building, actually pre-cooled by Climate Wizard.
