Our objective was to find an affordable cooling solution for a spacious function center located within a picturesque Cape Town Winery. The aim was to counter the intense high temperatures while ensuring unobstructed views of the magnificent mountains.
We implemented the Climate Wizard CW-H15 indirect evaporative cooler, and the results exceeded expectations at Boschendal Wine Estate:
By employing a data logger over a 10-day period (10-20 March 2015), we achieved an average supply temperature of 21°C. Remarkably, this was accomplished using a mere 10.8 kW of power, with one side of the building completely open, thus providing 100% fresh air.
Choosing Climate Wizard resulted in installation cost savings of 30% compared to alternative air conditioning options when integrating it into a new building site.
By utilizing Climate Wizard, the venue avoided infrastructure expenses amounting to nearly 0.5 million Rand. There was no need to upgrade the power supply to meet the demands of inverter air-conditioning systems.
The investment in Climate Wizard offered a promising return on investment, with a payback period of only 2.6 years. This was achieved through capital cost offsetting and substantial annual savings on power consumption (measured in kWh) and demand tariffs (kVA).
By incorporating the Climate Wizard CW-H15 indirect evaporative cooler into their cooling strategy this provided an optimal climate-controlled environment, while appreciating the surrounding natural beauty.
