Seeley International & Variety bring Sunshine to Christies Down’s students

Christies Downs Primary School students, in particular the eighty in the special education room and the eight of those in wheelchairs, will be thrilled at the delivery of a brand new, 22 seater Sunshine Coach with wheelchair lifter, valued at over $100,000.

The new coach will enable children to get out and about in the community who wouldn’t have otherwise, learning valuable life skills.

“It is a wonderful gift for our school body enabling and empowering our students to access the community and learn life skills. We really appreciate the ongoing efforts of Variety and its members,” said Principal Gail Evans.

Variety – the Children’s Charity of South Australia has donated Sunshine Coaches to the value of more than $5 million since the program started in 1986 to schools all around the state. The program is only made possible by donations from the community and generous businesses, such as Seeley International.

Seeley International founder and Executive Chairman, Mr Frank Seeley AM, welcomed the opportunity to provide mobility to children who may otherwise be unable to experience the joys of excursions and other external learning experiences.

“Our loyal customers have strengthened Seeley International’s reputation for innovative and market-leading heating and cooling products – and as thanks for that commitment we are proud to give back to the community through a number of very worthy causes,” Mr Seeley said.

“Our contribution to the purchase and modification of this Variety Sunshine Coach was a perfect complement to our existing national gold sponsorship of the popular Variety Bash events across the country,” he said.

“With a head office and factory based in Lonsdale, our team is particularly excited to see fundraising efforts help enhance the lives of local students – and we hope that the children from Christie Downs Primary School have many exciting adventures thanks to this Sunshine Coach for many years to come.”
