SEELEY INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES MARK COUPE AS GENERAL MANAGER MANUFACTURING

Seeley International has announced the appointment of Mr Mark Coupe as General Manager Manufacturing for its South Australian (Lonsdale) and New South Wales (Albury) manufacturing operations.

Seeley International founder and Executive Chairman, Mr Frank Seeley AM said Mr Coupe’s extensive experience with a number of major manufacturers made him a well-credentialed choice for the senior role.

“Mark comes to Seeley International after working for many years in quality, engineering and operations management roles with well-known companies such as Tenneco, Schefenacker and Futuris,” Mr Seeley said.

“He has been extensively involved in continuous improvement activities for much of his career, and his solid track record of developing people will assist in maintaining Seeley International’s steadfast commitment to remaining a market leader,” he said. 

Before his Seeley International appointment, Mr Coupe was Operations Manager with the largest Australian automotive supplier of interiors systems – Futuris Automotive – for nearly eight years. In that role he established a manufacturing framework to support a 10-year plan that resulted in significant efficiency improvements and set an internal global benchmark.

Prior to that, he was Engineering Director/Continuous Improvement Manager with Schefenacker Lighting Systems Australia, where he oversaw the development of new lighting products and managed cost and reliability improvements. He developed the company’s most significant export product through clever integration of electronics, LED technology and plastic injection moulding.

He also spent more than a decade working at Tenneco Australia – Monroe, where he held a number of senior roles, including Quality Manager and Engineer.

Mr Coupe has been Vice President of the Federation of Automotive Product Manufacturers, a Northern Economic Leaders Champion, and an active member of the Automotive Industry working group. He has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and is a Graduate from the University of Adelaide’s School of Management.

Based in Adelaide, Mr Coupe started his new role on Tuesday 8 April.
