Seeley International has forged an alliance with the education sector.

Seeley International has forged an alliance with the Flinders University, University of South Australia and TAFE SA designed to ensure closer collaboration between industry and the education sector.

Signing of MOUSeeley International Founder and Executive Chairman, Mr Frank Seeley AM, said the Memorandum of Understanding signed on Wednesday, 13 August 2014 would see the highly-successful manufacturer share its experience and knowledge across a wide group of undergraduate and post-graduate students from the leading educational institutions, within the heating, cooling and air conditioning industry.

“This partnership is a new thrust for South Australia, and brings industry closer together with educational partners to broaden innovation, grow the State’s capabilities, and offer valuable teaching and research opportunities for students – particularly within the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering,” Mr Seeley said.

“This also provides an opportunity for students to gain real-world experience through exposure to Seeley International’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at Lonsdale and access to cooling and heating experts that have developed a number of market-leading and global-award winning products,” he said.

“This initiative will demonstrate to students that South Australia has manufacturers that are setting a global benchmark, and they don’t have to go interstate or overseas to become employed in an environment which is capable of leading the world in innovation and product development,” he said.

One outcome that has already occurred as a result of the MOU has been the confirmation by Flinders University that it will be installing the award-winning Climate Wizard, developed by Seeley International, to provide cooling for its data centre.

The MOU was signed by Mr. Frank Seeley AM (Executive Chairman and Founder of Seeley International), Professor Michael Barber (President and Vice Chancellor of Flinders University), Professor David G Lloyd (President and Vice Chancellor of University of South Australia) and Ms Miriam Silva (Acting Chief Executive of TAFE SA).
