In these conditions, traditional cooling systems have limited efficiency, as they must first remove large amounts of moisture from the air before achieving meaningful temperature reduction. This leads to high energy consumption, since most of the system’s power is used for dehumidification rather than effective cooling.
Solution
After carefully evaluating different air-conditioning solutions, Maspex’s technical team selected adiabatic cooling as the most efficient option.
Unlike conventional systems that overcome thermal loads, adiabatic cooling works through hot air displacement. It removes warm air from the upper part of the hall and introduces fresh, cooled outdoor air. The system uses “free cooling,” taking advantage of the natural cooling capacity of outside air whenever possible. When temperatures increase, it automatically switches to evaporative cooling, where water evaporation absorbs heat and reduces air temperature.
For industrial environments with high thermal loads and humidity, such as Maspex’s production facilities, adiabatic cooling offers a highly energy-efficient and sustainable alternative to traditional systems.
The Result
Maspex implemented a spot cooling system using eight Breezair TBS 580 Supercool units to supply cool, fresh air to a production area where summer temperatures previously reached extremely high levels.
The solution effectively managed the significant thermal load through the natural process of water evaporation, while consuming only 14 kWh of energy, demonstrating outstanding efficiency.
Beyond energy savings, the installation now provides a comfortable and healthy working environment by continuously delivering fresh outdoor air to employees in the production hall.
