Proinvest (Romania) - Breezair Spot Cooling System

Initial Situation
The initial situation at Proinvest Group’s Special Steel Factory in Pașcani was difficult, with high temperatures in the production halls, especially during summer. The 5,000 m², 10-meter-high hall used for cold steel processing created an extremely high thermal load. The hall had no insulation, multiple large doors, and a curved concrete roof that retained heat. Internal equipment and around 30 workers per shift further increased temperatures, often reaching 40–45°C. Under these conditions, an effective cooling solution was essential to ensure comfort, safety, and stable productivity.

Spot Cooling Solution
A targeted spot cooling approach was implemented using ten Breezair evaporative cooling units. The system supplied cooled air through special diffusers installed 4.5 m above the floor, delivering fresh air precisely to the areas where activity was most concentrated.

Results Achieved
The installation achieved significantly improved working conditions, with temperatures reduced to 27–28°C in the most critical zones of the factory. Breezair proved to be a true lifesaver for both staff and operations. Unlike refrigerated systems, which would have been highly energy-intensive and difficult to implement in such an industrial environment, evaporative cooling proved to be the ideal solution, providing sustainable cooling while reducing energy costs by up to 80% and ensuring low installation and operational expenses.
