Seeley International has announced that it has finalised a major 3-year contract deal worth more than $20m with Adelaide-based freight company, Kangaroo Transport Industries (KTI) for the haulage of its award-winning air conditioning and heating products across Australia.
Seeley International founder and Executive Chairman, Mr Frank Seeley AM, said he was pleased for the opportunity to align with another like-minded family-operated business, and to help to secure jobs, and strengthen the economy by supporting another local success story.
“In many ways the evolution of Seeley International has paralleled that of KTI, in that both are family owned and operated businesses that have withstood the test of time, and are now acknowledged for service excellence and market leadership,” Mr Seeley said.
“At a time when the spotlight is on the manufacturing and transport sectors, this is a good example of how two successful businesses can work together to achieve a win-win outcome – and I hope this serves as inspiration for others to do what they can, to also support and secure Australian jobs,” he said.
“Seeley International takes great pride in aligning with only the best, and KTI offers a bespoke logistics service at a competitive price, and is consistently reliable when it comes to distribution activities and delivery of our products.”
KTI CEO, Mr Stephen Buck, welcomed the contract opportunity, which results in the freight company providing the overwhelming majority of Seeley International’s national logistics function for finished goods from its logistics centres in Adelaide, Albury, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
“This is a perfect alignment between two family-owned South Australian-borne companies that share many common values, such as integrity, trust and respect – and have a well-defined business model designed to offer clients innovation and great service and value for money,” Mr Buck said.
“This announcement represents the culmination of many years of developing, refining and strengthening our national transport capabilities so that KTI can service clients’ total logistics needs, including line haul services across Australia, rail services to WA, warehousing and distribution and external storage,” he said.
“But one thing that has not changed over time is our commitment to provide clients with friendly, personalised and reliable service designed to suit their needs, and in such a highly competitive environment, that has proven to be a winning approach, time and again.”
“The market dominance of Seeley International for its air conditioning and heating products means that we will be busy all year round, and when someone orders a product it is delivered the very next day – a capability that has played a significant factor in achieving this long-term contract.”
The contract, which commenced on 1 November 2014, is set for a 3-year period.
